Joyce Ormond - Adv Dip H Sc Naturopathy, Dip H Sc Nutrition, MCSP
Physiotherapy, Naturopath, Nutritionist & Physiotherapist
Joyce manages the weight management, detox, vitality and anti-aging programme at the clinic as well as providing general naturopathic consultations. Joyce uses Live Blood Cell Analysis (Hemaview) and the VLA machine (bio impedance analysis also called cellular health analysis) to assist her with diagnosis and management of clients. Joyce brings a unique set of skills with her by combining her naturopathic and nutritional experience with 25 years as a physiotherapist
Hemaview (live blood analysis) has rapidly increased in popularity because of the effective and insightful way it identifies the inner functioning of the body. Hemaview can identify early changes in digestive and liver function, as well as provide insights into immune function and nutritional status. Good nutrition is not just about having adequate nutrients in the diet, it is also about ensuring that the body can absorb and metabolise them. Hemaview allows an objective method to determine where the focus of dietary and nutritional support should be, and which if any supplements are required.
Hemaview is supported by the VLA machine (Bio-impedance analysis) which gives an indication of the biological age of the cells in the body. VLA provides a benchmark for the cellular effect of lifestyle and nutritional changes in the body. The VLA provides great feedback on how well a program is working to return your cells to (or beat) your chronological age
How it Works:
Joyce assesses your nutritional health by measuring the 'lean to fat ratio'. Having more lean muscle than fat indicates that you are using the calories you take in through your diet, and people with more lean muscle generally have healthy blood sugar levels. Even people who are not overweight can improve their health. Having more fat than lean muscle leads to storing the calories you consume rather than burning them. Lean to fat ratios change as you get older, so unless you keep up exercise you can lose muscle mass, and your cardio vascular health, insulin and blood sugar levels are all compromised. Having a lean to fat ratio leaning towards the fat end of the scale increases your body's biological age, so swinging the pendulum to the other side of the scale has the effect of retarding the aging process.
An individual programme developed by Joyce ensures you are on a diet that is right for your metabolism and will give results. You will then enjoy the benefits of increased vitality, less viral illnesses and hormonal problems and at the same time retard the aging process.
Joyce also provides personalised exercise programmes for people with structural problems who need to develop their core stability and minimise risk of recurrence.
Bookings can be made with Joyce for combining the diet and exercise therapies or your can book for a personalised exercise programme on its own. Health fund rebates are available for both the weight management and exercise programmes.
